A passive subnanosecond laser is a laser that can generate subnanosecond pulses and uses passive Q-switching technology to achieve pulse modulation of the laser output. In this type of laser, by introducing passive Q-switching elements (such as saturated absorbers), the energy release of the laser is automatically adjusted in the laser cavity, thereby generating high-energy, high-peak power pulses in a very short time. Compared with actively Q-switched lasers, the passive Q-switching method does not require external circuits or laser drive signals, but relies on the nonlinear optical properties of the material to control the switching of the laser. Passive subnanosecond lasers are widely used in scientific research, material processing, medical imaging and other fields. Due to their high precision and high efficiency, they are suitable for application scenarios that require extremely short pulse times.
