The global MLCC Nickel Inner Electrode Paste market size is predicted to grow from US$ 780 million in 2025 to US$ 1352 million in 2031; it is expected to grow at a CAGR of 9.6% from 2025 to 2031.


MLCCs with nickel as the inner electrode material have low cost and excellent performance. Traditional MLCCs use precious metals "silver and palladium" as the inner electrode metal powder material (PME), which is very expensive. In 1996, the production technology of using base metal "nickel" as the inner electrode metal powder material (BME) was successfully developed and put into industrial production. In recent years, it has developed rapidly in Japan. At present, MLCCs using BME technology have accounted for more than 90% of the total MLCC. Compared with the inner electrode using "silver and palladium" materials, the inner electrode using "nickel" has a low cost, which is only about 5% of the conventional Pd30-Ag70 electrode, and the economic benefits are considerable. In addition, the electromigration speed of nickel atoms or atomic groups is smaller than that of Ag or PdAg, so it has good electrochemical stability and can improve the reliability of MLCC.


"Nickel" electrodes also have the advantages of high mechanical strength, its flexural strength is greater than that of Pd-Ag electrodes, and it has good corrosion resistance and heat resistance to solder, and good process stability. The resistivity of the "nickel" electrode is small and its conductivity is better than that of the Pd-Ag electrode. It can reduce the equivalent series resistance of the LCC and increase the impedance frequency.
