Polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet (PCBN) is a new type of composite superhard material synthesized by cubic boron nitride mixed powder and cemented carbide matrix under high temperature and high pressure. Its hardness is second only to diamond and has high hardness and resistance. Abrasiveness, polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet hardness is generally HV3000 ~ 5000, heat resistance can reach 1400 ~ 1500 ?, and has good red hardness and high oxidation resistance, polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet The sheet does not oxidize at 1000C, and does not react chemically with iron-based materials at 1200~1300C. The thermal conductivity of the tool made of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet is lower than that of diamond but much higher than that of cemented carbide, which is conducive to the improvement of workpiece processing accuracy and surface finish. The tool made of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet can process different materials The friction coefficient of CBN is between 0.1~0.3, which is much lower than that of cemented carbide (0.4~0.6), which makes it difficult for CBN tools to form stagnant layers or built-up edge when cutting. At present, it is widely used in high-speed cutting, turning instead of grinding, hard cutting, dry cutting and other fields, especially suitable for processing gray cast iron, hardened steel and heat-resistant alloys. Cutting materials with high cubic boron nitride content are especially suitable for machining gray cast iron, chilled cast iron, chilled cast iron and other cast iron materials. Typical workpieces are brake discs and drums, engine blocks, flywheels, cylinder liners, machine parts and rollers. Cutting materials with low cubic boron nitride content are mainly used in hard materials: hardened steels, cold and hot work steels, welding and wear-resistant alloys based on nickel, cobalt and iron, sintered steels, cemented carbides. Machining workpieces such as large bearings, shafts, punches, gears, stampings, valve seats and turbine components. There are two main methods for preparing polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheets: one is the primary polymerization method, that is, direct polymerization of hexagonal boron nitride (HBN) into a high-density sintered body; the other is the secondary polymerization method , first synthesize high-density cubic boron nitride (CBN), and then use it as a raw material to sinter into polycrystalline cubic boron nitride by high temperature and high pressure. The secondary polymerization method is divided into adding metal binder and adding ceramic binder. The performance of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheets is affected by many factors, such as the choice of substrate, the cleanliness and particle size of CBN grains, the content of CBN grains, the type and content of binders, etc. These factors determine the hardness, toughness, heat resistance, wear resistance and impact resistance of polycrystalline cubic boron nitride composite sheet.
